We experienced this first-hand when our Gold Coast office and the team at Lawnch came together for our very first bake-off. More than just a friendly competition, it was a celebration of community and giving back, all in support of Baby Give Back.
Baking for a Bigger Purpose
Baby Give Back is a Queensland charity dedicated to supplying essential baby and children’s items to families facing crisis—helping ensure every child starts life safely and equally. Our bake-off raised funds that directly support their vital work. Every entry and vote helped make a real difference, proving that even small actions can have a big impact. The true reward lies not only in our team coming together but in the positive effect this has on families receiving support.
From Classics to Crowd-Pleasers
To celebrate the cause, our team brought their best baking skills to the table. The line-up featured five impressive creations, including:
- Rich, fudgey raspberry brownies with mascarpone whip
- Nostalgic poppyseed cake
- A classic banoffee pie
- Buttery caramel slice
- The winning entry: a festive pecan pie
Nostalgia met comfort on every plate, transforming our lunchroom into a bakery full of delicious treats.
Judging the Bakes
Choosing a winner was no easy task. After some serious taste testing (tough job, we know), the votes were in.
🥇 Congratulations to Madi, who took out Best Bake with her beloved pecan pie, a recipe that has become a festive tradition in her family.
“I randomly decided to make it for Christmas about four years ago, and everyone immediately insisted it become a tradition. Now I make two every year—one for my family, and one for my husband!”
Gratitude & Looking Ahead
